Hello all!
The journey toward publication continues, with hiccups and road bumps, as expected.
I've been hard at work editing my sequel to Her Latent Charm. I wrote the first draft YEARS ago, and a lot has changed since then. My writing style, the world it takes place in, and the story itself. So, this means that a lot of the story has to be altered or removed to make it into what I know it can be.
Anxiety-inducing, to say the least. I know it's going to be better for it, but it's hard to remove so much of what I wrote when I first put the story together.
To cheer myself up, I make mock-ups of covers. It won't make it to the final cut, but I enjoy the process when I'm stuck.
In the meantime, as I've said a few times already, I've been waiting for my initial cover design to come through. It did! I had some notes (of course) and sent them back, so now we wait some more.
Unfortunately, the more I think about the idea I gave my designer to work with, the more I think I pointed them in the wrong direction to begin with. I'm not sure it points me in the right direction pertaining to my target audience.
But the company I'm working with is very attentive and responsive. I'm sure we can figure something out that will work for me. And more importantly, the people I hope will read the novel.
I'll keep everyone updated as we move along. In the next few weeks I'm going to make a Facebook Group for my Advanced Readers, so keep an eye out for that link if you want to signup to get a FREE copy of my debut novel in exchange for a review!
As a bit of a look at some character inspiration, I'll let you take a peek at the mood board I made for Her Latent Charm!

Thank you for checking out my blog, and for keeping up with my progress.
