It's been a WEEK. Again.
Got the kiddos starting their first full week of K, they are very tired and we are all very stressed.
One kiddo is now sick, one dog is now sick. Every day, more stress.
HOWEVER
I have also discounted my novella, Ambient Height, for about ten days on Kindle. And I finally have my author copies in hand!

I was worried there would be some formatting errors. And realized I probably should have gotten an advance copy to check it out before it went live. But that's something I learned, and it turned out great!
It's been surreal seeing this in physical form after staring at it for so long on my computer screen.
Thank you to everyone who got a copy! It means the world to me!
As for what's next, I've been working on a few things since my last update.
I finally slogged through my next novella, Desolate Seasons. It follows Sam over the centuries that he's left alone after the fall of his civilization. He is ravaged by despair and self-doubt, and has to fight to find some reason to keep going. He finds friends, briefly carves out a place in Trylia's history, and stumbles upon a plot that threatens his entire continent.
Here's a sneak Peek!
Focus on the Ambience, Sam thought. What can we see?
He called upon his tethered spirit to search with him for the answer. Connecting directly to the Ambient Pool wasn’t something that a Tether could do easily. Unlike Conduits, who were embodiments of the Ambience in the world of the living, Tethers relied solely on the spirits to access it.
So when Sam tried, he failed. The spirit tried to reach out to touch the Pool, but Sam felt nothing but a shadow.
Where is it?
Sam pushed harder, stretching the limits of the spirit’s strength. He felt the strain it was under in his chest, like a tightening pressure trying to collapse his lungs and crush his heart. But he pushed all the same, and finally felt the veil that separates the living from the Pool.
He screamed through the pain, startling several small creatures from their hiding places. And he pierced the veil.
In an instant, he knew something was very wrong. He felt like he was being ripped apart, one part of his soul trying to flee to the Pool while the rest tried to recoil. But in the moment before he was ripped back into his body, he saw that the Pool was minuscule, the light dim, the spirits lethargic. The Ambience was almost gone.
“No!” Sam screamed again, in his mind and aloud. He slumped to the ground, clutching his chest and sucking air into his abused lungs.
He knew now why he couldn’t get past the rock. And why, if there were survivors in Salvation, they were still isolated in the valley beyond the tunnel.
Their strength, their connection to the Ambience, was all but gone.
The consequences of Sam's past echo throughout the years. Sam has to navigate them on his own, knowing he is the last of his people.
Keep an eye out for news about Desolate Seasons' release. Hopefully coming in October!
I started a new project this week as well, which I described in my last post. I'm excited to see where these characters take me. They've already proven that this story was meant to be more humorous than I realized. I'll make sure to include some teasers as I go!
Thanks everyone for your support. I'll be sure to announce when my next projects go live!
