The Ambience is on the rise, this mystical power at the heart of Celuthia becoming the forefront of a conflict brewing between nations. But for Lila, that conflict is personal.
She’s a Conduit, a unique form of Ambient that doesn’t just wield that power, she embodies it. It was a curse when she didn’t understand it, a burden when she was being hunted for it, and is always a danger to her life whenever she reaches too far. But it also marks her as one of the most powerful individuals in the world, one of the few that might stand against the forces of Vortheim, where other Ambient have been abducted for mysterious purposes.
When an old enemy resurfaces, unleashing horrors more terrifying than what haunts Lila, she learns that agents of Vortheim are pursuing him as well. With the man she loves, her mentor, and her oldest friend at her side, she must race ahead of Vortheim’s agents before they can find their quarry. Because she knows that the darkness he represents can consume them all, and he knows that Vortheim is looking for her.
